What documentation do we need for our wedding?
The Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) must be lodged at least one month before your wedding date and no longer more than 18 months in advance. Should you require less than a month's notice, we can apply for a shortened of marriage (contact me for more details). Both parties must sign the NOIM in the presence of an authorised witness, such as a celebrant, a JP, a police officer or a barrister/lawyer.
You will need to provide the following
1. Passport
2. Original Birth Certificate
3. Change of name documentation, if there has been a difference in your name from your birth certificate
4. Evidence of termination of your most recent marriage, i.e. divorce papers of death certificate.
How far in advance can we book our wedding?
You can book your wedding as far advanced as you need. But the official docummnetation must be lodged with me at least one month in advance of your wedding date or no more than 18 months in advance.
Do we need to be with you in person to sign the NOIM?
For those in Australia: The signing of the NOIM can be witnessed remotely via Zoom or Teams. This implies the person providing this information (likely a marriage celebrant or similar official) is based in Australia.
For those overseas: Remote witnessing is not permitted. Instead, an authorised person must witness the signing. Examples of authorised persons include an Australian Consular Officer or an
Australian Diplomatic Officer.
Who can be a witness?
You will need two wintesses and they must be over 18 years of age.
What is your inclusion policy?
I welcome all couples regardless of age, religion, race, or how a person identifies. I am committed to creating a respectful and inclusive environment for everyone.
I am also committed to providing inclusive services and am dedicated to accommodating and working with people of all abilities. If you or your guests have any specific needs or requirements, please let me know, and I will do my utmost to ensure everyone feels welcome and supported.
What happens if we need to change the date?
If your date changes, please inform me as soon as possible. I will do my best to accommodate the new date, subject to my availability. If I am unavailable I will work closely with you to find a suitable Celebrant.
Can we include our pet/s in the wedding ceremony?
Absolutely! There are many ways we can incorporate your beloved furry, fluffy, or feathered family members into your ceremony. I adore animals and am excited to take on the challenge if you are!
